Replacing an aging above-ground liner in ? Empire Pools installs beaded, J-hook, and overlap liners the right way — with prep that’s built for local conditions.
In you’re dealing with tree cover and seasonal debris, strong sun exposure that can soften and stretch vinyl, and spring/fall temperature swings that make wrinkles more likely if the liner isn’t seated correctly.
We drain and remove the old liner, inspect the wall and coping track, treat surface rust, and re-shape the base/cove so the floor is smooth before the new liner goes in.
Then we hang and center the liner, vacuum-set it to pull out trapped air and reduce wrinkles, and we take our time aligning the pattern and waterline before the pool fills.
installs often involve access through tight side yards and mature landscaping — whether you’re near
Middle Country Road (Route 25), Yaphank Road, Pine Road, Granny Road, Route 112, or around
Cathedral Pines County Park and the Longwood Estate / Historic Park area.
We plan the setup to keep your yard clean, protect pavers and patios, and keep hoses/pumps organized so the job stays efficient and safe.
If your pool is on windier, more open lots near parkland, we time the vacuum-set and the start of the fill to help the liner lock in tight and straight.
Expect fast scheduling, clear communication, and a clean jobsite when we leave — with photos of key steps so you know exactly what was done.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A/G Liner Replacement FAQs
Straight answers for Coram homeowners scheduling an above-ground liner replacement.
Do I need to replace the whole liner, or can it be patched?
If the vinyl is brittle, has multiple leaks, seam separation, or it’s shrinking/pulling off the track, replacement is usually the better long-term fix. If it’s one clean puncture and the liner is still flexible, a patch can work.
What info do you need for a Coram liner quote?
Pool shape (round/oval), size (diameter or length/width), wall height (48"/52"/54"), and liner type (beaded/J-hook/overlap). Photos of the coping track and skimmer/return area help us confirm what you have.
Do you replace skimmer/return gaskets during the install?
Yes when needed — fresh gaskets are one of the best ways to prevent slow seepage during and after the refill. We also align faceplates carefully so the liner isn’t stressed around openings.
How do you prevent wrinkles in the new liner?
Wrinkles usually come from poor base prep or filling before the liner is seated. We smooth the base/cove, center the liner, then vacuum-set it so it locks into place before the water rises.
Can you do the job if access is tight or the yard is landscaped?
Usually, yes. Many Coram properties have narrow access and mature landscaping. We plan hose routing and staging to protect surfaces and keep the jobsite clean.
How long does an above-ground liner replacement take?
Most installs take about 3–6 hours depending on base condition, liner type, and fill method (hose vs. water delivery). Once we see photos and measurements, we’ll give a realistic time window.
