LINER PATCH •
Pool Liner Patching in
Empire Pools provides professional vinyl pool liner patching in for
tears, punctures, seam separations, and slow leaks—including underwater patching when the damage sits below the waterline.
Our process is built for patches that bond flat and stay put: we confirm the leak zone, evaluate liner age and flexibility,
remove biofilm/sunscreen/oils at the repair point, and prep the surface so adhesive can actually bite. We then apply a professional-grade vinyl patch,
press out trapped water/air, and edge-roll the perimeter so the patch doesn’t lift during brushing, vacuuming, or normal swimmer traffic.
If the leak is near fittings, we also check for faceplate/gasket movement and hardware issues that can mimic a liner leak.
You’ll get care notes (chemistry + brushing guidance) that protect the patch and the vinyl over time.
In , we commonly run routes near Sunrise Highway,
Merrick Road, Peninsula Boulevard, and Atlantic Avenue, with frequent service stops around
Lynbrook Village Hall, Greis Park, Rockville Centre Station, and the nearby corridors leading toward
Valley Stream.
We’re also frequently moving between nearby areas like Malverne,
East Rockaway, Hewlett, and West Hempstead.
If you’re close to the main corridors and residential clusters around town, we can usually schedule quickly and patch cleanly without turning it into a “big project.”

Liner Patching Tuned to
In backyards, normal debris cycles and seasonal temperature swings can turn small scuffs into pinholes—especially near steps,
corners, returns, and the shallow “hang” where swimmers and vac heads make repeated contact. We patch with prep and placement designed to hold under
typical brushing, vacuuming, and daily circulation.
homeowners count on us to patch neatly, explain what caused the damage, and prevent “repeat leaks” caused by nearby hardware movement.
What’s Included with Liner Patch

“We had a slow drop that looked like evaporation. They confirmed the leak zone, found a tiny pinhole on the floor, and patched it underwater. Water level stopped falling the same day.” — M. Caruso,

“They didn’t guess. They checked fittings, inspected the seam, and only then patched the liner. No more daily top-offs.” — R. Santoro,

“Professional prep work—cleaned the area, pressed everything flat, and rolled the edges so it won’t lift. Patch still looks great after normal vacuuming.” — E. Halpern,

“Honest advice. They told us what could be patched now and what would need attention later if the vinyl keeps aging. The repair solved our leak without draining the pool.” — N. Gallagher,
Liner Patch — FAQs
Do you patch liners underwater in , or do you have to drain the pool?
Most liner patching can be done underwater without draining or lowering the pool. For pinholes, small punctures, and many short tears,
underwater adhesive works well when the surface is properly cleaned and prepped. If the vinyl is brittle or the damage is in a spot that can’t be prepped safely,
we’ll tell you straight and explain the best option.
How do you make sure the patch actually sticks and doesn’t peel up?
Patches fail when the area isn’t prepped (oils/film), when trapped water/air stays under the patch, or when edges aren’t pressed down firmly.
We focus on cleaning the repair point, applying a properly sized patch, pressing out trapped water/air, and edge-rolling the perimeter so it lays flat
and resists lifting during brushing, vacuuming, and normal circulation.
What if the leak is near the skimmer, return, stairs, or light?
Leaks near fittings often come from gaskets, faceplates, screw tension, or slight movement—so it can look like a liner leak even when it’s not.
We check those areas for hardware and sealing issues. If the fitting is the real cause, patching alone won’t fix it, and we’ll recommend the correct repair.
Will the patch be noticeable, and can you match the liner pattern?
Most underwater patches are visible, but we aim for a clean, low-profile finish. When possible, we use pattern/toned vinyl that blends better
and place the patch where it’s least obvious. The priority is always a durable seal that stops the leak—then we make it as neat as we can.
When is patching not worth it and replacement makes more sense?
If the liner is heavily faded, stiff/brittle, shrinking hard, or tearing along seams and corners, patching can become a repeating cycle.
In those cases, we’ll tell you if a patch is likely to be temporary (just to get through the season) or if you’re better off planning a liner replacement.
